Time project. "I can haz cheezy puffs!"

This is my time project for concept studio. I was inspired to do this due to my cats reaction one day when I had a bag of cheez-it's. I sat them down on my bed and started playing a video game. He immediately began to try to get into the bag. It reminded me so much of the photo's I have seen under the name "I can haz cheezeburger." Within this 30 sec clip you will see him looking about to see if all clear and then proceeding to break into the bag of cheese puffs.

Identity Project

This project was based off of a 10 page auto-biography we wrote about ourselves. Using certain elements we were to come up with a metaphor to create our work from. Unfortunately, I did not document the process of creating this work. I misunderstood the methods of the class at this time.

I first began with creating a watercolor background using multiple colors. I added salt and dirt to create effects in the background.

I then got a sheet of velum and drew an outline of an iris. Within the iris, I took photos printed out and pieced them in. I cut out an area of negative space within the outline of the iris so the background was not obscured. I colored over the images pasted on the back side of the velum colors of the iris.

My inspiration for this cam from old botanicals and nude male imagery that is seen in many "gay" bookstores in picture books, posters, cards and other what not .

Site Specific project

This assignment was to be for a site specific area on campus within 2 minutes of our class. I chose the walk between the advanced ceramics studio to the Storr building. This was to illustrate the connection now between the arts and architecture schools at the University of NC in Charlotte.

First, I created an abstract design by the advanced ceramics studio using liner chalk. This was to be the primary focal point of the work.

Next, I created tertiary focal points by creating arrows to lead the participant.

The secondary focal point was by my Concepts Studio class at the Storr building.

The intent of the work was not only to be something followed but to also be trafficked on and allow the chalk to travel from the areas applied.

This is after the rain that night.

This is after one week from instalation
